Really cool, but needs work…
Nice upgrade to a great app. Four decks, new flexible UI, fun FX…lots to like here. Unfortunately there are fundamental problems with the tempo detection that make the sync feature not work very well. Its still impossible to adjust the precise alignment of the beatgrid, so if it guesses wrong, youre hosed (it insists on snapping to specific transients and theres no way to correct it when its wrong). But the biggest problem is the beatgrid is now fluid/adaptive, so even if you manage to get it aligned to the right beat, it tries to be intelligent and detect tempo changes, and ends up drifting off even when the BPM is completely steady through the whole track (which is true of 99% of all tracks). There doesnt seem to be any way to turn off this "intelligent" adaptive beatgrid, and honestly it just breaks the whole feature.
Algoriddim works very hard and Im sure theyll sort this stuff out, so I still think its worth buying this while its on sale just to play with it and see whats new. But I wouldnt recommend using it for any gigs until they sort out the broken beatgrid/sync mess.
